25ft Sailing Scow Design #269

The flat bottomed scow form is the simplest of boat models but one that offers intriguing possibilities for extreme shallow draft.  Given some inside ballast, lee boards and a generous rig it can also be made to sail surprisingly well.  We are not going to cross any oceans with this one, but for poking about in tidal water, for exploring otherwise inaccessible places, or for simply serving as a weekend getaway, this little boat will be hard to beat.
